Ask AfterEllen.com (May 5, 2009)

Want to know the status of a particular movie, TV show, or band? Wondering what a certain actress is up to these days? Send your entertainment-related questions to [email protected] – with your first name, city and country – and we’ll try to answer as many as we can.

Question: I have a movie script which is perfect for Jennifer Aniston. Do you know of anyone who can help me get my script to her. I will be willing to pay $2,000 for it.

ÔÇò Anon.

Answer: Sadly, no, I do not. Which is too bad for both of us, because I could use $2,000.

Question: What’s going on with the band Antigone Rising? Are they still together?

ÔÇò Kitta, USA Answer: Yes. In 2008, the band’s lead singer, Cassidy left the group to launch a solo career and the remaining members (Kristen Henderson, Cathy Henderson, Dena Tauriello, and Jen Zielenbach) toured briefly as Antigone Four. Lately they’ve been joined onstage by Shannon McNally (a talented artist with several great records under her belt) on vocals, and the band is now performing again as Antigone Rising.

Out guitarist Kristen Henderson told me, “We just did our second show with Shannon McNally in NYC. We love working with Shannon and plan to do more shows with her later this year. We’re also playing a few shows with The Bangles later this month in NYC (BB Kings 5/24) and Northampton, MA (Calvin Theater 5/29). Our good friend, Nini Camps will be sitting in with the band for those shows.”

Henderson was recently featured in Real Simple Magazine along with her partner, Sarah Ellis. In the article, “Two Women, Two Babies, One Family,” about how she and Ellis became pregnant at the same time and delivered their son and daughter only weeks apart. In the article, Ellis admitted, “One of the advantages of a dual pregnancy is that no one is skinny. After an awful lot of restaurant meals, we would order an enormous chocolate banana split and not think twice about it. You don’t get self-conscious ÔÇò it’s shared pighood.” As awesome as that sounds, the timing brought with it some disadvantages too. Ellis added, “One day we accidentally dropped our keys in front of the door to our house, and I said, ‘We should just call a locksmith.’ It seemed easier to change the locks than bend over.”

I also learned from the article that Henderson played an 80-minute show when she was 8 1/2 months pregnant. I don’t know that I can ever justify calling in “sick” to work again.

Question: Megan Morris was my favorite contestant on America’s Next Top Model, and I have kept an eye out for her in magazines and ads ever since she was on the show. Is she still modeling?

ÔÇò Chris J. Answer: I recently came across an interesting video online in which the out former ANTM contestant talked about her experience with so-called “reality” television in Tyra’s kingdom.

I guess it’s not much of a surprise to hear a reality TV survivor talk about how orchestrated a show like ANTM can be, but it’s great that Morris got the chance to represent herself on her own terms in response to the show. I tracked Morris down to ask her what she’s up to these days, and this is what she told me:

I live in San Francisco, California. I began a prosperous company called MediZed. It’s a visual effects house using 3D animation dedicated to companies with products or a spaces (like real estate or medical device) that either A.) doesn’t exist yet or B.) needs to be shown in a scale and in a way that video just doesn’t easily capture. We then are able to leverage that content to capture the story of the company, and help humanize their brand through new rich media. It’s a TON of fun.

As for modeling, it was very much not for me. But it’s a great side job if you’re half serious about it and can use it to help leverage yourself to pursue what you’re really passionate about. I really only wake up for two things, my dog Nola, and MediZed.

So if you want to keep track of Morris, you’ll have better luck following her and her new company on Twitter than you will flipping through the pages of Vogue.

Question: Do you know if the web series Anyone But Me will be coming back with more episodes? I recently discovered it (surprisingly I missed the press about on AfterEllen.com back in December) and really liked where the stories were headed.

ÔÇò LC Answer: I went directly to the source and talked to Executive Producer/Writer Susan Miller about when we can expect to see new episodes. She told me that they’ll be running Monday, May 11 (Episode 7) and Tuesday, May 19th (Episode 8), and that two more episodes will be coming in June. (You can watch them here on AfterEllen.com or on the show’s website.)

Miller also told me that there’s currently an Anyone But Me Fan Fiction contest and Fan Video Contest, and that some of the prizes will include three scripts signed by the creators and stars of ABM. The fan fiction contest closes on May 27 and the fan videos contest closes on May 20, so for more details go here.

And if that’s still not enough ABM news for you, Miller told me that the stars of the show will be making an appearance on The Women’s Party Cruise benefiting Fenway Women’s Health Programs on May 23rd (Labor Day Weekend) in Provincetown, MA. Keep up with new ABM developments at their blogspot page or follow them on Twitter.

Question: Can you answer the following questions about A Woman of No Importance? When will filming begin? Will it be delayed due to the death of Natasha Richardson? (Her husband, Liam Neeson, stopped filming Chloe, so there will be a delay. But Amanda Seyfried first has to finish Chloe, before she can take part in A Woman of No Importance.) Will it really be filmed in Australia?

ÔÇò Susanne, Hannover, Germany Answer: It sounds like you already know more about this movie than I do!

Director Atom Egoyan told WENN.com that Neeson returned to the set of Chloe soon after his wife’s death and finished his work on the film (which is now listed as being in post-production on IMDB.com).

As far as A Woman of No Importance is concerned, it’s currently listed as being in pre-production on IMDB, which also reports that the shooting locations will include Australia and the U.S. (specifically, New Orleans, LA). So far, there is no official word on when shooting might begin.

Seyfried will co-star along with Annette Bening in this updated version of Oscar Wilde’s “class comedy, playing a young woman who falls victim to the mischievous games of a group of upper-crust members of British society.” The release date for the film is still listed as “2009,” but considering the fact that we’re almost halfway through the year and they’re still in pre-production, that date may change.

If you’re in a hurry to get a Seyfried fix, Jennifer’s Body (written by Diablo Cody and co-starring Megan Fox) is in post-production and currently slated for a September 19, 2009 release.
