Question: Will Margaret Cho‘s Beautiful show will be on DVD or CD anytime soon or, well, at all? And while I’m at it, is she planning on touring through Europe again?
And here’s one for Missy Higgins:
I love her and I REALLY want to see her live!! Is she gonna tour anytime soon (especially through Europe)?
Margaret Cho’s Beautiful
Answer: You’re in luck. Margaret Cho recently announced on her official website that Beautiful will be released on DVD on November 17, 2009. (It was also announced that autographed copies can be pre-ordered on the site in the near future.) Currently, Cho is on tour in the US through October, and she just wrapped the first season of the series Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime. There are no European tour dates on her schedule as of now, but you can check her site or follow her on Twitter for updates.
Missy Higgins recently performed at the Queensland Music Festival event "Cannot Buy My Soul," paying tribute to Kev Carmody, but there are no tour dates on her schedule at the moment.
However, if you are really desperate for a Higgins fix, you can check out her new film, Bran Nue Dae.
Missy Higgins and the cast of Bran Nue Dae
Higgins makes her film debut alongside Geoffrey Rush, Ernie Dingo, and Magda Szubanski. Here’s a clip of the trailer:
The indigenous musical had its world premiere on August 9 at (Melbourne International Film Festival), and the filmmakers are in final negotiations for a commercial release. In an interview with The Australian, Higgins said of her film debut, "It was quite hard getting into the head of an outgoing, bubbly hippie. Then I realized there was a side to my character that we shared, a carefree, quite cheeky attitude."
Initial reviews of the film are positive, so hopefully we’ll be seeing more of the cheeky Ms. Higgins on the big screen sometime soon.
Answer: Shuttled into the celezbrity realm after being just about the only contestant to maintain her dignity on "reality" dating show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, lesbian firefighter Dani Campbell has fielded many inquiries about her self-professed "futch" (femme plus butch) gender identity. Maybe it was the interest of all of those new fans that inspired her to launch the Futch clothing line.
These days, Futch is know as PinkBoyBlueGirl.and the PBBG site carries only t-shirts. But founders Campbell and partner Kristy plan to expand with a full collection (pants, shorts, jackets, swim wear). On the PBBG site, they explain, "We started because we wanted cool clothes that fit our way." The description further assures us, "PBBG tees are cut straight, fit smaller all over, and have shorter rises and sleeves. Trust us it just works."

You can check out the tees at the PBBG shop here. It’s safe to assume that those "thoughts" do not include your opinion of A Shot at Love, Tila Tequila, or what sort of futchy undergarments Campbell sports under her firefighting uniform.
