I
WAS HOPING THE CONTEST WOULD ATTRACT SOME ATTENTION,
BUT MAYBE NOT QUITE SO MUCH
It's a short column today, I'm afraid, because our server
was hacked again last night, this time by an Islamic extremist
group who wished to inform us that a fiery hell awaits us
upon our imminent demise. Then they deleted all of our photos
for the
movie poster contest (unfortunately for them, we have
back-ups of them), and our entire blogs section (unfortunatately
for us, we don't have back ups of that, so we have to take
that section off-line for now). Hey, I'm shocked that the
Cinderella and Break Up posters are so
neck-in-neck for the lead, too, but there's no need to get
all wrath-of-God about it!
Those
of you who aren't homophobic religious extremist hackers,
go
vote now for your favorite poster, and strike a blow for
lesbians everywhere! Or, you know, just do it 'cause it's
fun.
THE
BLACK DAHLIA The
trailer
is finally out for Brian de Palma's new film The
Black Dahlia (opening September 15th), based on the
infamous real-life unsolved murder of a young Hollywood actress
who is played in the film by The
L Word's Mia Kirshner.
Since
she's dead for most of the movie, Kirshner's role is actually
fairly small, but she still has enough screen time to sleep
with Hilary Swank, at least in the past. Lest you think I'm
revealing some big plot spoiler here, Swank's character actually
volunteers this info in the trailer, saying, "I just
[slept with her] to see what it would be like with someone
who looked like me". Narcissism, murder, and beautiful
women? It's got all the makings of a bisexual classic!
ALSO COMING UP: A CAT'S GUIDE TO THE BEST DOG TRAILS IN CENTRAL
PARK
Time Out New York launched a new broadband
site this week that features video guides to what's hot
in the Big Apple, including a rundown on lesbian nightlife,
reviewed by--you guessed it--a gay man. Future
segments will include Kate Moss on the best buffets in Brooklyn,
and Mel Gibson on the city’s top synagogues.
AND
HOW GREAT WERE DILANA'S PANTS?
On Rock Star: Supernova this week, out bisexual contestant
Patrice
Pike rocked it with Tommy Lee, but it was Zayra's
lesbian stalkerish version of "867-5309/Jenny"
that I couldn't stop watching--and not in a good way. Memo
to Jenny: change your number as soon as possible!

BUT SHE DOES GET POINTS FOR USING THE WORD "RUCKUS"
I don't think even a lesbian fling can save the show at
this point, but you can't blame a girl for trying: Desperate
Housewives actress Eva Longoria told
Playboy Magazine in this month's issue that she hopes
her character has a fling with Nicollette Sheridan's Edie
in the future. "My character would go for Nicollette
because Gabrielle is another ball of fun,” she says.
“They’d be a pair to reckon with. They would
cause quite a ruckus.”
Not
to be outdone, CSI’s Jorja Fox said she
wants her character to have an affair with Lady Heather
next season. Hey, it's more believable than Sara and Grissom!
BUT
WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Out
comedian Michelle
Balan was eliminated from Last Comic Standing
this week.
Jackie's
homophobic mom came to visit this week on Bravo's Work
Out, and the tension between the mom, Jackie,
and Jackie's girlfriend Mimi was so uncomfortable, I couldn't
look away (in a good way). Try to catch it in re-runs,
if you can, or read our recap.
Details
magazine has a new video on their website of a pillow
fight that took place between Mia Kirshner, Leisha
Hailey, Erin Daniels, and Sarah Shahi. 'Nuff said.
That's
it for this week! Check back next Friday for a new installment
of Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever. or read past
installments here.
