ANOTHER
BISEXUAL FEMME FATALE
The cinematic adaptation of Augusten Burroughs
dysfunctional-family memoir Running
with Scissors, which features Annette Bening,
Gabrielle Union and Kristin Chenoweth in lesbian-ish roles,
has been given a release date of October 20th.
There's
another film based on a book with bisexual themes debuting
this fall: controversial crime drama The
Black Dahlia, by director Brian de Palma (Femme
Fatale, Mission Impossible). The movie is based
on the book
of the same name that explores police corruption in the
investigation of the real-life murder of an up-and-coming
actress in the 1940s (played by The
L Word's Mia Kirshner).
Why
do we care? Because it lets us see Kirshner in a role
that is blessedly Jenny-free, and because one of the two
cops involved discovers that his "casually bisexual"
girlfriend (Hilary Swank) had an "unsavory connection"
(cinema speak for "lesbian relationship") with
the deceased.
It
is annoying to see yet
another movie that connects bisexuality with crime
and death. On the other hand, the bisexual women in question
here are played by a glammed-up Hilary Swank and the always-alluring
Mia Kirshner, so...principles, schminciples! Where do
I buy tickets?

over for Lily Tomlin's character as the new president's
secretary.
Although
it hasn't been officially announced yet, Survivor:
Vanuatu--the one with lesbian contestants Ami
and Scout--will be released on DVD in December, according
to TVShowsonDVD.com.
Next
week on DVD: April's
Shower and Julie
Johnson.
Carmen
Electra is playing Joan
Jett's lover in an upcoming music video, according
