ROSEN: "You met this person once, I believe, but you
really, I think, ought to know each other, because this
woman is, I think you'll have an interest in knowing her.
She is one of our Fox News anchors in New York. Her name
is Lauren Green. She is brilliant, she's beautiful, she's
African-American, she's single and she's a concert pianist
in her spare time.
RICE: My goodness.
ROSEN: And she asked me to give you her CD, and I promised
her that I would.
RICE: That's perfect.
ROSEN: And here's her doing a number of different classical
pieces.
RICE: Well, that's special.
ROSEN: So there you have it.
RICE: Thank her very much, and I look forward to seeing
her sometime.
ROSEN: All right. She's going to want to hear from you.
RICE: And maybe even play dual piano sometime.
When
the New York Daily News asked Fox News if Green
is a lesbian, a spokeswoman said, "I don't know."
You
have to give Mr. Rosen some props: he managed to imply Condi
and Lauren were gay at the same time, live on national
television, without anyone seeing it coming. I'm guessing
he's a plant by the KKK, the Religious Right, or the Democrats--or
maybe all three, in some kind of unprecedented alliance
to take down the most powerful black woman in America.
Well,
besides Oprah. But don't worry, I'm sure he's willing to
find her a nice girlfriend, too.
MORE
WOMEN COMING OUT ON TV...
This
week in lesbian TV, a new season of Degrassi: The Next
Generation kicked off yesterday on The N network, where
teenager Alex is rumored to be coming out as a lesbian later
this season; Bravo aired the queer episode of its new show
The Great Thing About Being; and Kimber and Christian
finally kicked Rhona Mitra out of bed this week on Nip/Tuck,
ending their cozy little threesome arrangement.
Meanwhile,
Sarah and Kim got into bed on America's
Next Top Model, after which, Sarah got the boot,
and went back home to Booneville, Missouri, and her boyfriend
(look for our recap with all the fun details on Sunday).
Sarah assured her boyfriend on the phone that she doesn't
"swing that way," but the steamy footage of her
and Kim that aired this week says something different. Here's
a tip for all you bi-curious women out there: don't have
your first lesbian experience on national television and
then try to lie about it. Just a suggestion.
Kim
didn't fare too well in this week's episode, either, narrowly
missing elimination herself. "Modeling isn't something
Kim knows well," fellow contestant Bre commented casually
to the camera, as the show flashed to scenes of Kim flirting
with Sarah. "So, you stick to what you know. You know
girls, you know you like 'em and you know you're good at
gettin' 'em." I should have been insulted on behalf
of my Lesbian People, but I was too busy laughing. Plus,
girl's got a point.
