The Clinic — Spencer goes to Chelsea and literally holds her hand in the waiting room. She also learns that both of her brothers are jackasses (well, she already knew that about Glen). Chelsea tells her that Clay wouldn't come to the clinic with her because he didn't agree with her choice to terminate the pregnancy.
Carlin Home — Clay, Cecily and Paula are having a sit-down, and Cecily is talking at Clay again. I find it annoying. The funny part is that Paula also seems annoyed. She's like a big lioness watching over Clay so that his grating biological mother doesn't walk all over him with some preachy rant about herself and how she put up Clay for adoption. Paula reminds Cecily that she's brought baby pictures of Clay for him to see. Somehow seeing the baby pictures and hearing a Cecily speech (Paula could only keep her on point for so long) convinces Clay to get off his ass and get down to the clinic to be with Chelsea.
Which is what Sean told him hours ago. Duh.
The Clinic — Clay and Cecily arrive at the clinic as a teary Chelsea comes back into the waiting room and announces that she couldn't go through with the abortion. Clay gives her a hug and introduces her to Cecily.
King High — Ashley gets herself to English class on time (something her passive-aggressive teacher points out when Ash enters the room) and begins the ass-kissing with Spencer in regard to that unfortunate videotape.
Ashley: It was real then, but it's not anymore.
Spencer: I know, but it was just really hard to see. I don't like feeling jealous.
Ashley: I know. I'm really sorry.
Spencer: Thank you. I don't want to talk about that today. I don't care. We could be going through sooo much more.
(Note to Spencer: Remind Paula of the bonus factor of no unplanned pregnancies for lesbians. Why not play this whole Clay situation to your own advantage, right?)
Spencer: I'm just glad that we have each other.
Ashley: Well, then I want to talk about the plans for this weekend. OK, now I wanted it to be a surprise, but they're kind of elaborate and I don't want to spoil it, but —
Spencer: Ash, I just want to do something simple.
It turns out that “something simple” is a romantic little date in Chelsea's studio (she's not going to be having much fun for awhile now, anyway). Spencer and Ashley playfully feed each other Chinese food and then slow dance the night away. Finally, some romance! These two have earned it, what with the affection-deprivation diet they've been on of late.
Next Week — Yep, it's the season finale, and it's a doozy. Spencer sees Aiden getting a little too friendly with Ashley (and it turns out that sweet little Spence kinda looks like a demon when she's angry); Chelsea gets kicked out of her house; gunshots ring out at prom; and — hold onto yourselves — Madison returns with a funky new hairdo and street clothes.
I know!
Sound too heavy? Then check out The N's website for a sweet sneak peek video of Ashley asking Spencer to prom.
