Ella tells Nurse Perie about Azazeal and her other tormentors.

Nurse Perie: "I don't think I know a Mr. Azazeal."
Ella: "And I don't think I believe you."
Nurse Perie: "You don't think you sound a little paranoid?"
Ella: "Just 'cause you sound paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you, right?"

Ooh, those were some really good comebacks, Ella. Almost as good as "I know you are, but what am I?" or "I'm rubber, you're glue; what bounces off me sticks to you and your sexy nurse's uniform."

Medenham — Headmaster David has resigned over the whole Ella debacle. Good man. And guess who's taking over? Jez the Obsequious.

Outside, Leon helps Ex-Headmaster David pack up his stuff. Look at Leon's flat ass. What? How could I help but notice that? The camera's focused right on it — and it's really, really flat. Anyway, Ex-Headmaster David tells Leon that Ella's going to need a friend, so Leon should visit her.

I can't describe these visual jokes — Thelma's futzing with the plastic thing that's for peeing in — that is, if you've got some sort of appendage that allows you to pee into a container.

Ella: "You don't think I'm mad, do you?"
Thelma: [speaking into the plastic thing, for the echo effect] "Just moody."

Thelma tells Ella to see it as 28 days to get her strength back, but Ella says it will be 28 days of poisoning.

Thelma: "Okay. What do you want from me? Just name it."
Ella: "You got me in here. You get me out."

The dining hall — Roxanne is making a proclamation: nobody should visit Ella in the madhouse. Leon stands up to her — much to the surprise of Thelma, who's sitting right behind him. As Roxanne goes, Thelma offers a two-fingered salute and a raspberry.

Leon's bed — There's Thelma. Well, first she's in the form of a voluptuous dining hall wench, but she turns back into herself just in time to scare the life out of Leon.

Leon: "Hold on. You're dead!"
Thelma: "So? Doesn't stop you being a nice person."

Thelma tells Leon he's not exactly her idea of a wet dream either, but he's all she's got. She tells him to go to the hospital, and to ignore Roxanne: "Just remember, she's a cow, and she's also shagging a priest."

The mental hospital — Ella manages to slice Nurse Perie / Nurse Ratched with a comb, but Nurse Perie still manages to administer a "herbal extract" that essentially sends Ella into a seizure.

Nurse Perie heals her own wound by floating a finger over it.

Another meal — The students of Medenham aren't even going to pretend to be in school anymore: we just see them eating, drinking, and playing football. Anyway, Leon's asking Tom whether he should listen to the dead person who's been talking to him in his dreams. Hmm. Even as a loyal Hex viewer, how would you answer that question? Yeah, me too.

Tolerance — Ella seems to be taking the "herbal extract" a bit better now. Thelma wants to know what it is, but Ella's having trouble speaking. Thelma also tells Ella that she's spoken to Leon, but figures he's a "useless jerk" who won't be of much help.

Not so useless — Leon tries to visit Ella, but Nurse Petrie is there to play gatekeeper. She tries to send him away, but he just pretends to leave — as soon as he sees his chance, he sneaks back to see Ella.

Meanwhile, Thelma has worked out that Ella's "herbal extract" is St. John's wort. Nobody saw that coming. It was a complete surprise. I never would have guessed it in a gazillion years. (Never mind: when did Thelma/Ella get that nice PowerBook? No need to go to the library now, since all anyone ever does there is use the computer.)

As Leon is making his way to Ella's room, he hears Jez and Nurse Perie talking. Nurse Perie has a note that Leon left for Ella. She holds it in her fingers, and it suddenly bursts into flames. Neat trick! Nice contrast to your icy personality.
