Two
guys show up to take Bre and Nik on a romantic
carriage ride through London
and then out to dinner.
A blind date with a couple of smarmy guys is
her prize? I would be so pissed! But Bre is impressed
because the guys are “gentlemen” and have better manners
than her usual dates. Nik
doesn’t say much at all, and I’m wondering if it’s
because of her “situation.”
Back
at the hotel, Kim writes Nik a note of apology while
Nicole cheers her on. When Nik and Bre return, they
read the note and are underwhelmed. Meanwhile,
Kim is still in deep denial, claiming “They didn’t
mean a lot of what they said and our friendship is
as good as ever!”
The
next day, the girls show up for an early morning shoot
in which all of them will be jammed into a telephone
booth together—naked! This is perfect timing when you consider how
great everyone is getting along now.
This
shoot sounds
fun, but Bre tells us “Even though we’re a lot
of pretty girls, a lot of pretty girls don’t use deodorant.”
And then it
gets worse. Bre rants, “And I wanna know the pretty
girl who thought it was cute to pass gas in that little
box. I could have just died in that little box--just
died!”
Yes,
it was Lisa. I
know because she announced it. Sigh.
Evil
Jay likes Lisa’s shots, “She’s learned to turn that
craziness down and just become a good model.” He likes
Kim too, “Kim looks like an edgy top model. And she
has that thing where you won’t forget her.” Especially if she’s on your shit list—as with Bre.
When
Jayla gets her turn in the front row, Lisa upstages
her. Jayla is worried she’ll end up in the bottom
two again.
At
panel the next day, Tyra finds an excuse to trot out
her own baby pictures (baby fierce!). Then the girls
learn that they are being judged on their paparazzi
shots.
Bre’s
“worst” shot is not bad at all, and her phone booth
picture is hot. Tyra
says she is “blown away” by Bre this week. Lisa’s
candid shot reveals bad hair and clothes, but her
phone booth picture is great. Nicole’s
candid shows her big mouth wide open, but the phone
booth picture is gorgeous. Tyra thinks Nicole is still
holding back.
Jayla’s
worst isn’t bad at all—in fact, she was the only one
that didn’t have a bad candid shot. But
her phone booth photo sucks—it is all about Lisa.
Nik’s phone booth shot is pretty good, but the judges
aren’t sure she can do a “face forward” photo shoot.
When
the judges deliberate, Twiggy says she doesn’t
see Lisa as a model because she has “too much personality”
(which makes no sense), but the photographer thinks
she is fabulous. They think that Bre is very improved,
but Jayla doesn’t fare as well. Miss J still doesn’t
like Kim because she’s annoying, and the judges think
that Nicole is a “sourpuss” in person. Tyra thinks
Nik looks like a secretary in her photos.
It
finally comes down to Lisa and Jayla. Lisa just doesn’t belong here—she’s the only
one of them with major charisma! Jayla should definitely
go. But they send crazy Lisa home instead.
I
think this is because the ANTM folks know they have to get rid of Lisa at some point. She has
too many personal problems and too much potential
for scandal to let her win. (I have to admit that
even though she is the most dynamic of the models,
I wouldn’t want to share a phone booth with her.)
Lisa
is very dignified and gracious in losing. She goes right over to the girls (even those
who have been jerks to her) and embraces them.
She says, “If I didn’t win or make the top
three—oh well, I gave it everything I’ve got.” Cut
to a slow montage of some of Lisa’s more insane antics.
She adds, “I stayed true to myself, no regrets.” And that’s what I find endearing abut her too.
Lisa is genuine. She looks like a lost little puppy dragging
her suitcase behind her as she exits the Savoy.
Sniffle.
Next
week, more drama as the girls pose as statues
for a photo shoot (Nicole becomes hysterical when
the pigeons land on her head), and Bre and Kim go
at it again!
