Afternoon Delight: Tina Fey gets animated for “The Simpsons,” Lady Gaga’s VMA meat dress on display

Good afternoon!

Happy birthday Pippa Middleton, Foxy Brown, Naomie Harris, Macy Gray, Jane Curtin, Rosie Perez, Elizabeth Vargas and Swoosie Kurtz!

This Friday a slew of celebrities will Stand Up To Cancer for the Logo’s New Now Next telethon, airing at 8 p.m. EDT. Halle Berry, Justin Timberlake, Sofia Vergara, Gabby Douglas, Missy FranklinEric Stonestreet, Ray Romano, Felicity Huffman, Maura Tierney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Jessica Biel, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Seth Rogen, Emma Stone and Gwyneth Paltrow are just some of the faces you’ll see trying to raise millions for cancer research. Make sure to tune in and help change the world for the better.

Also on Friday, Lady Gaga‘s (in)famous 2010 MTV Video Music Awards meat dress will be on display at the National Museum of Women in The Arts. Gaga revealed that her carcass costume was a political message about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell explaining that “if people don’t stand up for their rights, they’ll have as many rights as a piece of meat.”

Get ready for the Matrix-esque action film Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Famke Janssen, Gemma Arterton and Zoe Bell. (No real witches were harmed in the making of this film.)

Tina Fey will guest-star on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. Fey will lend her voice to the animated series’s 24th season (can you believe this show is still on the air?) as “Ms. Cantwell, an otherwise nice substitute teacher who does not warm to Lisa for some mysterious reason and bullies her.”

Thanks to HBO’s Game of Thrones, fashion is going medieval. I blame Lena Headey.

If you need a good laugh today, watch Amy Poehler and her Parks and Recreation castmates try to hold it together in this Season 4 blooper reel.

And, if you haven’t shit your pants recently, take a gander at the latest American Horror Story: Asylum clip. (Am I the only one who shits myself when I’m scared?)

Forbes magazine agrees with Suze Orman about money stuff. (Obviously!)

Tonight, out filmmaker Amy Walmann is throwing a fundraiser for her lesbian film Mockingbird Sings, starring me and Autostraddle’s Brandy Howard. The party runs from 6 pm to 8 pm at Shakey’s Pizza Parlor (5321 Laurel Canyon Blvd.) in North Hollywood, CA.
