Afternoon Delight: Sheetal Sheth on “NCIS: Los Angeles” tonight, Brian May thinks Lady Gaga should front Queen

Happy birthday to Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Bones actress Emily Deschanel, 30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski and In & Out scene-stealer Joan Cusack.

In a recent interview, Pariah star Adepero Oduye opened up about working with out director Dee Rees (I love her!) and researching the gay community to play 17-year-old lesbian Alike in the award-winning film.

I read Zami by Audre Lorde and some other books. Then we had a homework assignment where we had to go into a black and Latino lesbian club in character and get a sense of that whole world. Go to a straight environment; go to Christopher Street Pier in character. Then Dee was just very open if I had any questions, to talk to her and ask her about anything. So she was available to me all the time. She was open about a lot of stuff.

Pariah opens in select U.S. theaters on December 28.

Kristen Stewart is missing her left forearm on the cover of Glamour magazine. (Seriously, where is it?) The November issue claims to give readers “a Twilight exclusive” and show us “the real Kristen Stewart.” Good, because I hate imposters.

Today, my favorite truly outrageous animated 1980s television show, JEM and The Holograms, is available on DVD! The 11-DVD box set is packed with bonus features and many hues of pink.

Queen guitarist Brian May recently revealed that he wants Lady Gaga to replace the late Freddie Mercury as the band’s lead singer. I think this is a terrific idea. In an interview with the Daily Express, May said, “We (Queen) talk about going out on the road all the time but there’s a bit of a singer problem, to put it mildly. We get a lot of offers to work with other people. I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with. She’s not just a singer, she writes her own material.” You might remember that May and Gaga – I mean, Jo Calderone – opened this year’s MTV VMAs with a performance of “You and I.”

Check out this still of Scarlett Johansson in Joss Whedon’s upcoming action film The Avengers. What do you think of her crime-fighting jumpsuit? Where does she put her car keys and Chapstick?

Tonight, The World Unseen‘s Sheetal Sheth will guest star on NCIS: Los Angeles. Make sure to tune in to CBS at 9 p.m.

As we previously reported, Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) will guest star on ABC’s Happy Endings tomorrow night playing Casey Wilson‘s eccentric mother, Dana. Here’s the synopsis for the “Yesandwitch” episode, which will air Wednesday at 9:30 pm: “Penny’s perpetually optimistic mom, Dana is in town for a singing gig at a boat show. Her enthusiasm inspires the gang, but when Penny finds out she’s hiding some less-than-happy news, she decides it’s time to give mom a reality check.”

Lesbian money guru Suze Orman gives the Occupy Wall Street movement two big thumbs up. Check out Orman’s Huffington Post article to find out why she’s saying “thank you” repeatedly.

The Real L Word ‘s Jill Goldstein works out while watching tv in the below Xbox LIVE + Kinect commercial. (I prefer to eat ice cream while I watch TV.)

Ugly Betty‘s America Ferrera will be taking the stage in London. The Emmy-winning actress will play the role of Roxie Hart for eight weeks in the West End production of Chicago beginning November 7. Break a leg, America!

Tomorrow afternoon, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo will appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, tomorrow night out actress Evan Rachel Wood will stop by Chelsea Lately and on Thursday, October 13, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Ringer) will sit down with Conan.
