And, speaking of cover girls, check out The Playboy Club‘s Amber Heard on the cover of Angeleno magazine. Heard dishes on Bunny Maureen, her excitement for the release of The Rum Diary, co-starring Johnny Depp, the “weird ride” of being out in Hollywood and the difficulties of being an artist.
Heard says, “You put everything on hold and make this character come to life, and it’s like saying goodbye to a friend or a lover.”
Saying goodbye to a lover is probably much easier when cashing a massive check and waiting for the residuals to show up in the mail. Angeleno is only available in Los Angeles but you can read Heard’s article online.

Comedic assassin Sarah Silverman (what does “comedic assassin” even mean?) is heading to NBC. Silverman sold an untitled sitcom loosely based on her own life about a “newly single woman who just got out of a decade-long relationship.” If Silverman needs an actress to play her younger double-jointed sister, I’m available.
On Sunday, August 28, join The L Word‘s Mia Kirshner for the I Live Here Projects Rocks event benefiting the Boys of Kachere Juvenile Prison School in Lilongwe, Malawi. Kirshner, who is a long time activist, has wrangled her L Word co-star Leisha Hailey and her Uh Huh Her bandmate Camila Grey to perform at the event along with singer/guitarist Holly Miranda. The doors open at 8 p.m. at the Bootleg Bar in Los Angeles.
Our brother site, AfterElton.com, interviewed the Emmy Award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin about her appearance on CBS’s Same Name (a reality show where a celebrity switches places with a non-celebrity with the same name.) Apparently the other Kathy Griffin wasn’t a gay supporter. Yikes!
Lesbians and my mother aren’t the ones that claim to be Rachel Maddow‘s biggest fan. True Blood‘s Mehcad Brooks (“Eggs” on TB) claims he’s the biggest Maddowphile of them all. In an interview with AfterElton.com, Brooks said, “I’m a huge fan. There’s not a bigger Rachel Maddow fan. I’m a Maddowphile. I’m a definite Maddowphile. Cause I think that she is probably the most assertive, politically motivated and accurate voice of my generation. She’s a national treasure. I think that we need honest voices like that and we need journalism like that. She really digs in there and she does real investigating reporting, even if it’s not going to get her ratings. And I think we have to support and foster that sort of environment and I really respect her.” Now I feel bad that Eggs was killed off!
