Afternoon Delight: Piper Perabo returns tonight with “Covert Affairs” and Lady Gaga is banned again

Good afternoon!

Congratulations to Dakota Fanning, who graduated from high school yesterday. The 17-year old actress stars in the upcoming Twilight movie. Fanning is only 17? Now I feel like a pervert for enjoying her kissing scene with Kristen Stewart in The Runaways.

Tonight Piper Perabo (Imagine Me & You) returns to the small screen with a new season of Covert Affairs.

Perabo stars as the adorable but deadly government agent Annie Walker. Season two premieres tonight at 10 pm on USA and full episodes of season one are available on USANetwork.com.Here’s a little preview:

Lady Gaga is traveling the world and sprinkling her gay love everywhere. Last night, she rocked a green hairdo (or is it more of a teal?) and red cat-like claws at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City. Gaga took home the Fashion Icon prize.

This Saturday (June 10) the 25-year old singer will march in the gay pride parade in Rome’s Circus Maximus. The parade marks the close of 2011 Euro Pride.

One place Gaga and her gay love are not adored is Lebanon. The Guardian reported that the government of Lebanon has banned her “Born This Way” album from stores due to “it’s all around ‘bad taste'” because it is “offensive to Christianity.” The Los Angeles Times claimed that Gaga’s albums are still in the Lebanese Office of General Security and no decision has been made as of yet regarding the impounded CDs. (According to the 1962 Lebanese Law, Article 75 regarding distribution of print media, the law states, “Distributors are prohibited from circulating media that diverges from public decency and morality, or is at odds with nationalistic or religious beliefs.”) Maybe it’s time they update their laws.

Sony Pictures has announced that writer Kurt Wimmer has been commissioned to script Salt 2 (Saltier?), a sequel to the 2010 action film starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a Russian spy turned CIA agent. When I originally saw Salt in the theater, I thought Jolie was way too thin to pack such hard punches but I must admit that if there is a Salt 2 I will be the first one in line.

We recently featured the three-minute sneak preview of True Blood‘s season four, which premieres on June 26. HBO has now decided to extend that preview for all you bloodthirsty viewers. Watch the sneak peek of the first six minutes in which Sookie meets her fairy godmother and chaos ensues.

I’ve waited a long time for Exes & Ohs season 2 (premiering June 29 on Logo) and to get you all ready the lovely and talented Michelle Paradise gives a few tips and shout outs to AE readers. (Seriously, I think she’s obsessed with us!)

Poppy Montgomery will star in the J.K. Rowling biopic Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story. The biopic will air on Monday, July 18 at 8 pm on Lifetime. Remember when Montgomery played Tori Spelling’s lover in the 2006 film “How to Lose Your Lover”? Aww, memories.

Yesterday Newsweek featured Alison Bechdel‘s book Fun Home in the article “Book Bag: Five Books I’ve Read In the Past 12 months That I Wish I Were Still Reading.” I’ve read Fun Home and I recommend it to everyone.

Lesbian/ Bi Video of the Day:

For the last few weeks the amazing Sia has been Christina Aguilera‘s right hand woman on NBC’s hit show The Voice. NBC posted a video called “Meet Christina’s Advisor Sia.” Oh we’ve already met Sia and we LOVE her!

And if you’re a fan of The Voice like I am, check out the preview video of the judges (Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Aguilera) rehearsing a Queen medley that they will perform on tonight’s show (which airs at 9 pm).
