Afternoon Delight: Paula Patton covers “Complex,” Demi Moore will play Gloria Steinem in “Lovelace”

Good afternoon and happy first birthday to my nephew Soren! (Although, I doubt he’s reading this column.)

David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has greatly disappointed at the box office but that’s not stopping the studio from forging ahead with the next film. Sony has confirmed that The Girl Who Played With Fire is still on schedule to be released in late 2013 and, of course, Rooney Mara will be reprising her role as Lisbeth Salander. You’re welcome!

Speaking of TGWTDT, MTV has created a fictitious ice cream flavor inspired by the epic film called The Swirl with the Dragon Cashews. It sounds delicious!

This might be completely gratuitous but I don’t care. Behold! Paula Patton is making sexy eyes on the cover of January’s Complex. Robin Thicke is one lucky guy.

Margaret Cho could reprise her role as the late North Korean leader Kim Jong Il on 30 Rock. 30 Rock’s show runner Robert Carlock told Us Weekly: “We realized that, luckily, we hadn’t referred to King Jong Il by name yet — just to North Korea in general. We can’t go back and address the changes there, but the fun puzzle is turning around and trying to figure out how to get her (Elizabeth Banks’ character Avery) out of there and how to continue things. Maybe we’ll have to have Margaret Cho showing up again having faked her death because she wants to get a gig on a morning talk show.”

Demi Moore has signed on to play Gloria Steinem in the Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace. I must say I’m a little surprised by this casting news. If I were casting Steinem’s role I would have went with Elizabeth Banks or Jennifer Carpenter. What do you think?

Just a reminder that you can catch a new episode of Absolutely Fabulous on Logo (our parent company) on Sunday, January 8th at 10 PM ET.

Tonight The Office’s Mindy Kaling will appear on Conan while Carrie Fisher (Wishful Drinking) stops by The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Lesbian/Bi Tweet of the Day!

Chelsea Lately writer and roundtable regular Fortune Feimster denounced herself as a bad homosexual on Twitter.
