Happy birthday to Michelle "Mitchie likes sausage" Rodriguez! The Blue Crush actress turns 32 today. Check out the behind-the-scenes video from MRod’s 2010 Total Film Photoshoot.
As we’ve previously reported D.E.B.S. actress Jordana Brewster is starring in the reboot of Dallas. Rebooting Dallas reminds me of my favorite idiom: “You can’t polish a turd.” (Actually, the Discovery Channel series MythBusters tested it and you can in fact polish a turd. Why do I know this?) Anyway, Brewster plays Elena Ramos, the daughter of a ranch cook who gets caught in a love triangle. Check out a first look at the feisty series that premieres next year on TNT. Brewster can practice her face slap on me anytime.
Saving Face’s Michelle Krusiec will be joining the cast of Fringe. There is no news on the name or nature of the character she will play, so I’m just going to imagine she’s playing a surgeon who’s dating a lesbian ballerina.
The Big Gay Sketch Show’s Nicol Paone will be performing comedy at Akbar in Silverlake, CA at 8 p.m. tonight. The cover charge is $5 and the event will also feature Bruce Daniels, Nico Santos, Liz Stewart, Maria Bamford and Shawn Pelofsky.
Speaking of comedy this Thursday, July 14 Chelsea Lately’s Fortune Feimster and I will be performing at the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club at 8 p.m.
Lady Gaga is traveling the world promoting her album Born This Way. (She must have a lot of frequent flyer miles.) Gaga stopped by Australia’s Current Affair to discuss her passion for fashion, her love of big shoulders and she removes lipstick from her teeth while on-air. OK, I’m liking Gaga again.
And because Gaga is Gaga, she created a custom made performance for the show.
Back in May, Entertainment Weekly spoke with horror master Stephen King about the possible remake of the cult classic Carrie starring Lindsay Lohan as the title character. King, "Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White … hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg."
Over the weekend the original Carrie star, Sissy Spacek, who is currently starring in the film The Help along side Emma Stone, spoke out in support of Lohan getting the part. During a press junket for The Help, Spacek said: “I read about [the casting] and I was very flattered because they ran a picture of me and of Lindsay Lohan. I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s really a beautiful girl’ and so I was very flattered. I was also flattered that they were casting someone to look like me instead of the real Carrie, described in the book. It’s gonna be real interesting.”
Do you think Lohan would make a good Carrie?
One of my favorite out comedians is Jill Kushner. She’s a two-time Emmy Award-winning comedy writer and producer and she loves soccer superstar David Beckham. Not only does Kushner love Beckham, she believes lesbians everywhere adore him as well. Check out her article "Lesbians Love David Beckham" and let me know if you think Beckham is “crazy sexy” too.
Video of the Day:
Today’s video comes from activist Carol Almeida, who created a campaign in support of Brazilian LGBT population called #eusougay (which means #iamgay). Almeida’s goal was to have all participants take photos with the message “#eusougay” and to “assume that identity in order to prove to the whole country we could show a bit more of tolerance and respect towards each and every political minority.” Over 2500 photos have been submitted so far and Almeida is looking for more.
