Afternoon Delight: Lindsay Lohan shoots a commercial at home, Katy Perry prayed to get her boobs

Happy birthday to Meryl Streep! Remember when the magnificent 62-year-old actress and the incomparable Allison Janney played lovers in the Academy Award-winning film The Hours? I want them to adopt me.

And happy birthday to LGBT activist Cyndi Lauper. The superstar rocker turns 58 today.

Out actress and The Talk co-host Sara Gilbert is heading to the UK! Well, her popular talk show is. CBS announced that The Talk has been picked up by NBC’s British digital channel DivaTV. The show will premiere July 4 and the network will air two episodes of The Talk every night starting at 7 pm. In a press release, CBS Studios International’s Senior VP for Europe Stephen Tague said, “We’re excited to finally bring The Talk to U.K. audiences. The hosts have a great chemistry and their thought-provoking conversations are sure to generate debate with DivaTV viewers, while also bringing an entertaining take to everyday topics.” Will you check out The Talk’s chemistry?

“I Kissed a Girl” singer Katy Perry graces the cover Rolling Stone Magazine‘s 2011 Summer Double-Issue. In it, Perry, donning a Hershey’s Kiss-like bikini top (why didn’t I think of that?), discusses her views on politics and her close relationship with God. Perry told RS, “I started praying for [breasts] when I was, like, 11. And God answered that prayer above and beyond, by, like, 100 times, until I was like, ‘Please, stop, God. I can’t see my feet anymore. Please stop!'”

God can make your breasts bigger? Does that mean plastic surgeons are priests? Also, can God get rid of my love handles?

The WNBA announced their 30 official nominees for their Top 15 Players of all time poll. (A panel of media members and basketball experts selected the nominees.) If you’re a WNBA fan head over to WNBA.com to see who made the list and vote for your top 15 favorite players.

In a statement, WNBA President Laurel Richie said, “We are extremely proud to recognize and honor the greatest players in the 15-year history of the WNBA. The women who comprise the list of nominees are an extraordinary combination of groundbreaking pioneers and present-day stars. Each has made a unique contribution to the game, but all share an unsurpassed passion for women’s basketball and for the WNBA. It is through their efforts, collectively, that the WNBA has become — and will continue to be — the destination point for the most talented female basketball players in the world.” The WNBA’s Top 15 Players will be announced at the 2011 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 23, at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

A new study has revealed that 48 percent of college-educated gay and lesbian Americans are closeted at work. The study, conducted by the Center for Work-Life Policy, explains that many of these people live “double lives” by being out in their personal lives but closeted at work. Obviously, I’m out at work. Are you?

Last night I attended a press screening of Bad Teacher. Cameron Diaz stars as the worst (and hottest) teacher in the world! Although, there is no gay element to the film (besides Diaz making an “I don’t like muff” comment to a fellow female teacher and out actress Jillian Armenante playing a sweaty co-worker who ogles Diaz), I encourage you all to see this film and support a movie with a female lead. The movie is shockingly funny and, once again, Diaz is really, really hot. Bad Teacher hits theaters this Friday, June 24.

I doubt Diaz will get an Academy Award nomination for Bad Teacher but it’s up to BeyoncĂ© and The Kids Are Alright director Lisa Cholodenko to decide that. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited 178 artists and executives to become voting members for the Academy Awards. BeyoncĂ© and Choldenko received the special invitation along with Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence, Black Swan‘s Mila Kunis and Juno‘s Ellen Page.

Tonight Brandi Carlile will be performing at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, OR and k.d. lang will be jamming out in Indianapolis, IN at the Carmel Performing Arts Center.

And if you’re in San Francisco, tonight comedian Vickie Shaw will be performing at the Cobbs Comedy Club at 8 pm. Tickets are $20 and half of the proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Equal Rights (dedicated to repealing Prop 8).

Lesbian/Bi Video of the Day:

Out actress Lindsay Lohan might be stuck at home on house arrest but that doesn’t mean the 24-year-old star has stopped working. Lohan appears to be the unofficial spokesperson for Beezid.com. Check out Lohan’s commercial below.
