Afternoon Delight: Lea Michele rocks the Tonys and the ladies of “The Real L Word” invade LA Pride

There are probably a lot of sunny entertainment things I could tell you this summer afternoon, but mostly I just want you to hold me while I cry and cry and cry because Harry Potter officially finished filming this weekend. Dan Radcliffe attended last night’s Tony Awards where he told reporters about the last day on the Potter set: “Everyone was really devastated. It was really, really sad. We were crying quite a lot.”

It probably made him feel right back home at Hogwarts, though, when he presented the Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play award with Katie Holmes, who towered over him him like Hagrid over Professor Flitwick.

So, Tonys. Did you watch? Scarlett Johansson won for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play. Catherine Zeta-Jones took home the trophy for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical. Katie Finneran stole Angela Lansbury’s Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical award. And Lea Michele took on “Don’t Rain on my Parade” live. (Without the awkward substitution “Hey, Tony awards” for “Hey, Mr. Arnstein” it was even better than the Glee soundtrack.)

In addition to the lead role in the Funny Girl revival, which she will surely not be denied after last night’s performance, Michele is also going to voice Dorothy in an animated version of Wizard of Oz. I’m calling EGOT for her, right now.

Sunday night, Showtime is launching the The Real L Word onto premium-cable-buying society. And as a warm-up, they flung the ladies of TRLW onto LA Pride this weekend. Word from the left coast is they were handing out promo stickers with the classy tagline “We’ve got your housewives licked!” You can check out a video from the weekend – awesomely titled “The Real L Word cast invades LA Pride – at OurSceneTV.

If you want a sneak peek at Sunday night’s premiere, the Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles is holding a screening tomorrow night. Tickets are ten bucks, guest speaker is Ilene Chaiken, and I promise you this: You will get trolleyed if you take a drink every time you hear the phrase “our stories.” For more details check out HRC’s Facebook events page.

Rue McClanahan’s NYC apartment is on the market for $2.25 million according to the New York Times. The description is magical:

In the pantry of the three-bedroom co-op at 430 East 56th Street, a door disguised as a spice rack leads to a bathroom behind the kitchen – a secret passageway!

The door to her office is another conversation piece. It is sculptured to look as though a naked woman was walking through it. The woman’s head and one breast extend into the hallway; her hand is the doorknob. From inside the office, you see her backside.

Super Betty White is still going strong; her new show Hot in Cleveland premieres this week, and she stopped by Good Morning America this morning to talk about it and how much she misses Rue and Bea Arthur.

I’ll have a Hot in Cleavland review for you as soon as the UPS guy gets here with my screeners!

Today’s Afternoon Delight is brought to you by Eva Mendes and her new photoshoot in W.
