Afternoon Delight: Kate Winslet strikes a pose, Amanda Palmer gets arrested

Good afternoon!

A three-headed Lady Gaga is on the cover of V Magazine‘s Asian Summer Issue. The periodical features Gaga’s extensive photo spread, Gaga’s interview with Elton John and her first column for the fashion magazine. Check out Gaga’s memo (via Gawker), in which she discusses her creative process and the evolution of pop-culture.

If you’re a Kate Bush fan take a listen to her Director’s Cut album (now streaming on NPR), comprised of a collection of 11 revamped songs from her albums The Sensual World and The Red Shoes. Bush re-recorded all of her vocals and the drums, but left most of the original instrumentation.

While voting for the AfterEllen.com Hot 100, I somehow forgot to add the lovely and hot Kate Winslet. What is wrong with me? The award-winning actress is now the face (and body) of St. John Knits (I’m the face of St. John’s Wort).

This is Winslet’s first ad for St. John Knits and the always-humble actress discussed the photo shoot, which took place in a New Jersey movie theater. Winslet said, “They want to keep it looking like me and not have it look like me pretending to be a model wearing these clothes. I’m obviously not a model. I’m not the size of a model. I don’t have the face of a model or the shape of a model.” Personally, I would choose Winslet’s figure over a model’s figure any day.

Olivia Wilde and the cast of House have joined the “It Gets Better Campaign.” They speak out against bullying in the video below.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone, the upcoming Hunger Games) shows off her mutant powers in the below clip from X-Men: First Class:

The Fears For Queers 2 Horror Film Festival has announced its summer line up. The one-day LGBT horror fest takes place on June 25 at the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff and half of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Youth First Texas.

The festival features “a selection of independent feature and short horror films that have been written and/or directed by LBGT filmmakers and/or of gay interest.” This year’s films include; George’s Intervention from JT Seaton, Cupcake from Rebecca Thomson, metsastysmaa from Nalle Mielonen and Bite Marks from Mark Bessenger.

The upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be released in Imax, 3D and in … Lego form? For some reason Disney decided to remake the film’s trailer with Legos and I must admit the plastic Penelope Cruz is quite sexy.

Musician Vanessa Carlton has just announced her upcoming summer tour dates. If you want to watch the bisexual pianist tickle the ivories, check out her tour schedule and see if she’s playing in a town near you.

Deadline is reporting that actress Rachel Weisz is still in the running to become America’s Next Top Model in “deep talks” to star in a Bourne spin-off with Jeremy Renner. If Weisz’s shooting schedule allows for it she will play a female operative, i.e. the female Jason Bourne. I’m crossing my fingers that this actually happens because it sounds awesome!
