Happy birthday to out actress Heather Matarazzo (Exes & Ohs), Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo, actress/singer Eve and the late and lovely Brittany Murphy (Freeway, Girl Interrupted). Brittany, you are greatly missed.
Now that Eddie Murphy is no longer hosting next year’s Academy Awards, The Huffington Post is speculating as to who might replace him. Their picks include some of our favorite out ladies, such as Jane Lynch, Ellen DeGeneres, Rosie O’Donnell, Cynthia Nixon and Wanda Sykes. My choice for host is Jessie J with Christina Aguilera performing all the nominated songs.
Dakota Fanning has been banned from Britain. Well, actually the ban is for her racy new ad for Marc Jacobs’ "Oh, Lola!" perfume. The British Advertising Standards Authority gave a disapproving finger wave to the image of the 17-year-old Fanning and released this statement:
We noted that the model was holding up the perfume bottle which rested in her lap between her legs and we considered that its position was sexually provocative. We understood the model was 17 years old but we considered she looked under the age of 16. We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child. We therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible and was likely to cause serious offence.
Out actress Amber Heard is touring the world promoting her film The Rum Diary. Check out Heard’s backless gown at the Paris premiere. Movie theaters tend to be chilly so I hope she brought a shawl.
Adele is Cosmopolitan‘s December cover girl. Animal print never looked so good.
In the newest issue of The Hollywood Reporter, six profound actresses kick off the magazine’s annual Oscar roundtable series. Seeing Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) and Charlize Theron (Monster) together gives my brain sensory overload.
And check out the behind the scenes video of this shoot.
