Afternoon Delight: Jane Lynch lends her voice to “Small Fry,” Annie Leibowitz teams with Charlize Theron for “Vogue”

Happy birthday to out comedian Judy Gold and The Kids Are All Right actress and former America’s Next Top Model contestant Yaya DaCosta.

When The Muppets hits theaters on November 23, moviegoers will get a special treat courtesy of Jane Lynch. A seven-minute Toy Story short film, Small Fry, will air before Miss Piggy and her attitude take over the big screen. In Small Fry, viewers will follow a fast-food meal version of Buzz Lightyear as he tries to escape his surroundings. Lynch provides the voice for a green-haired mermaid, Neptuna, the leader of a discarded toys support group. Even in cartoon form, Lynch is doing advocacy work. J’adore Jane Lynch. J’adore.

Good news! The gay penguins at the Toronto Zoo will be reunited by next spring. As we’re previously mentioned, gay African penguins Buddy and Pedro have been forced to be paired with female penguins in order to produce offspring. Tom Mason, the zoo’s Curator of Invertebrates and Birds said, “The population is good but we have to be careful to ensure that all individuals or as many as possible have genetic representation within the community. This will maximize the chances of survival of the population. There will be a limited time of separation but it will not be permanent. No matter what happens all the penguins will be re-united by spring. If Pedro and Buddy wish to get back together, they will be welcome to do so.”

The bad news is Buddy and Pedro will be celebrating the winter holidays without each other. I’m crossing my fingers that Santa will bring them a Christmas miracle and buy Pedro and Buddy a condo in West Hollywood far away from the hoochie female penguins and zoo-keeper-pimps of the world.

In Des Moines, Iowa a lesbian couple has been denied a wedding cake from a local baker. Victoria Childress, the owner of Victoria’s Cake Cottage sat down with Trina Vodraska and Janelle Sievers and refused to bake their cake because of her Christian beliefs. (God doesn’t believe in frosting?)

Childress told the local news, “They came in and she introduced herself, and I said, ‘Is this your sister?’ She said, ‘No, this is my partner.’ I said, ‘OK,’ and I asked them to sit down and I said, ‘We need to talk I’m a Christian, and I do have convictions.’ I didn’t do the cake because of my convictions for their lifestyle. It is my right, and it’s not to discriminate against them. It’s not so much to do with them, it’s to do with me and my walk with God and what I will answer [to] Him for.” In my opinion, denying someone sweets is just morally wrong.

Famed photographer Annie Leibowitz got actress Charlize Theron all wet for the cover of Vogue. In the December issue, Theron discusses her slew of upcoming movies, being single for the first time in her life and jokes about having her own reality show.
