This time around Infomania’s Bryan Safi is shining some light on a church lady who sued her church for all past donations — to the tune of $250,000 — because they started performing same-sex marriages.
Ali (Christina Aguilera) is a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to LA. After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess (Cher), the club’s proprietor and headliner.
So, Coyote Ugly on the west coast, then? (Can’t fight the moonlight!)
Hey, speaking of Piper Perabo, have you been watching the promos for her new USA show, Covert Affairs? I watched the pilot last week and it is awesome! I’ll be doing a full review next week, but in the meantime, check out the trailer if you haven’t seen it already.
Sad news from the lady-lovin’ music scene: The combination of low attendance and headline artists bailing has caused Lilith Fair to cancel ten tour dates, including — weirdly enough — Salt Lake City and Nashville.
