Afternoon Delight: Cat Cora makes us feel lazy, Uh Huh Her at The Sessions Factory

Happy 30th birthday to actress Jess Weixler. Weixler starred in the 2007 horror film Teeth, as a young women with vagina dentata (her vagina has teeth.) No, Weixler is not gay nor does she play gay in the film but since her vagina chomps off a few penises (in self defense) I’ve decided to include her on my imaginary all-girl kickball team alongside Red‘s Helen Mirren and Lara Croft (Tomb Raider).

In the spirit of gay pride, Tellofilms has posted the first episode of their original series Cowgirl Up on their website for free. (McManusLand Episode 1: “I am Oprah” will be posted for free on Friday, June 10.)

If you like either series (hopefully both) then I encourage you to support Tellofilms, which is developing numerous lesbian/bisexual projects, and sign up for a premium content account. (It’s only $3.99 a month.)

Today the only female (and out) Iron Chef, Cat Cora, was featured on CNNMoney in an article about six celebrity chef-preneurs. Not only is Cora a masterful chef but she is also the head of a multimillion-dollar media, restaurant and merchandising empire. Cora has recently launched a new line of eco-friendly cookware and kitchen utensils with Starfrit and in her spare time she’ll be opening six more restaurants this year. Cora makes me feel lazy.

For all you Out With Dad fans, check out the trailer for Season 2, premiering on July 7.

Do you want to pump up for pride? Then start training with Toronto Pride’s Pride Pump 2000X. (My favorite part of this video is at the 1:50 minute mark when Kate says “Get that thing out of my face” and Brody, the trainer, responds, “I don’t understand lesbians.” ) Toronto Pride begins July 2.

If you’re in New York City, tonight’s the night for the “Wild Women of Comedy” at Carolines on Broadway. The big gay event features comedians Jessica Kirson, Poppi Kramer and Exiene Lofgren. The show starts at 7 p.m. will be hosted by Kit Stewart and Anne Lipuma. (If you go, please tell Jessica I said “Hi!”)

Tomorrow, June 9, is the closing night of the Sinner Saint Burlesque: Pop Culture Show in Seattle, Washington. If you enjoy watching ladies strip to Madonna‘s “Material Girl” then check out the 9 pm show at the Club Noc Noc Seattle, 1516 2nd Avenue (between Pike & Pine) Seattle, Wash.
