A sneak preview of Ali Alder and Ryan Murphy‘s new gay-themed comedy The New Normal will air Monday, September 10 at 10 p.m. The show (which features lesbian comedian Julie Goldman in the pilot episode) will immediately follow the two-hour Season 3 premiere of The Voice. Then on Tuesday, September 11, The New Normal will return with an all new episode at its official 9:30 p.m. time-slot. Are you ready to get your gay on?
Out comedian/actress Sandra Bernhard has a new webshow called Comedians Walking & Getting Mani-Pedis. Watch Bernhard get her nails done with The Daily Show‘s co-creator Lizz Winstead.
Speaking of comedians, if you’re a fan of LGBT advocate and award winning comedian Kathy Griffin, consider picking up The Kathy Griffin Collection: Red, White & Raw Comedy Collection available October 30 from Shout!Factory.
Aubrey Plaza stars in the sex-comedy The To Do List, due out in theaters Valentine’s Day 2013. If you’re up for it take a gander at the film’s NSFW red-band (super-straight) trailer below.
Frances McDormand teamed up with Sean Penn for This Must Be The Place, due out in theaters November 2. (Penn’s whispery voice scares me.)
Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto recently talked to Life + Times about the band’s latest record, her musical influences and songwriting. Ditto said that her mission on Joyful Noise was, “To push myself. To go beyond my comfort zone” and admitted that her favorite party jam right now is Paul Simon‘s “Call Me Al.” Seriously. She explains, “I’m always envious of pop music’s ability to be shameless. Uninhibited. Rhymes and lyrics that when you read them aloud without melody would make you laugh! The idea of people screaming the craziest words into the air as loud as they can in large groups at clubs. Only music makes you do that.”
Lesbian/Bi Photo of the Day!
Out artist Jessie J sure knows how to rock a suit! J looked stunning as always at last night’s GQ Man of the Year Awards at London’s Royal Opera House. (Is it just me or does J looks like Posh Spice circa 1996?)
