Out country artist Chely Wright attended the Broadway premiere of Bonnie & Clyde at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City. (Musicals make me smile, too.)
Angelina Jolie spoke out against her In the Land of Blood and Honey lawsuit. Jolie said, “Suck it!” Actually, she was more eloquent then that. Jolie told the LA Times, “It’s par for the course. [Being sued] happens on almost every film.” Journalist James J. Braddock filed a lawsuit claiming his piece entitled “A Soul Shattering” was the inspiration for Jolie’s directorial debut. Jolie said flat out, “There are many books and documentaries that I did pull from. It’s a combination of many people’s stories. But that particular book I’ve never seen.” Oh snap!
Portlandia Season 2 premieres at 10 p.m. ET on Friday, January 6 on IFC.
Apparently, Rosie O’Donnell has been engaged to Michelle Rounds for months and just didn’t tell anyone. And I thought we were close!
Speaking of O’Donnell, the talk show host tweeted a photo of herself and two ladies at her upcoming Christmas show.
Forbes magazine named Twilight’s Kristen Stewart the most bankable star in Hollywood. Anne Hathaway ranked second and Stewart’s Twilight co-star Robert "Team Edward" Pattinson claimed the number three spot. Check out the entire list at Forbes.com.
And speaking of ladies on lists, Lady Gaga has joined the ranks of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Women in Entertainment Power 100 list. Gaga claimed the number 30 spot while Oprah Winfrey was listed number 20, Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes ranked 34th, the cast of Bridesmaids came in 44th, Tina Fey claimed the 89th honors and Chelsea Handler came in 97th.
LGBT Video of the Day!
Yesterday Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at the United Nations offices in Geneva and announced the new global initiative to support gay rights called the Global Equality Fund. Backed by Clinton and President Obama, the U.S. will spend three million dollars to a fund the will work which will support LGBT rights worldwide. (Read the speech in its entirety here.)
This is why I love and have always loved Hillary Rodham Clinton.
