Afternoon Delight: A “True Blood” gay spoiler, Shay Mitchell & Lady Gaga on the MuchMusic Awards

Happy birthday to Cougar Town actress Courtney Cox! Remember when Cox and Jennifer Aniston had a lame lesbian kiss on Dirt? I find these faux gay moments to be very frustrating.

Michael Ausiello is reporting that a “major character, heretofore heterosexual, will be involved in a same-sex romance” in the upcoming season of True Blood, which premieres on HBO on June 26. Ausiello won’t divulge any additional details (“so as not to risk getting fanged by series creator Alan Ball“) but says, “having witnessed the big reveal, it doesn’t feel gimmicky. In fact, after the initial shock wears off, I imagine you will do what I did and go, ‘Yeah. Makes total sense.'”

Do you have any guess (or wishes) as to who that character will be?

Natalie Portman is a mama! Last night the Black Swan actress gave birth to a baby boy. Congratulations to Portman and her hubby Benjamin Millepied.

BeyoncĂ© and Christina Aguilera both grace the cover of July’s W magazine. (That’s a lot of ego talent for one issue.) As you can see, BeyoncĂ© joins the cast of Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity while Aguilera does a great impression of Cate Blanchett a la The Lord of the Rings.

The all-female band Sick of Sarah is featured in this month’s Ragged magazine. In the article, out frontwoman Abisha Uhl and bassist Jamie Holm discuss their “fashion fearlessness.” Are you afraid of fashion?

Do you remember the sexy yet confusing David Lynch film Mulholland Drive? For all you younglings, do yourself a favor and rent (or buy) this sexy film noir starring Naomi Watts. And please closely examine the sex scene between Watts and Laura Harring because you will be quizzed. Anyway, Lynch is planning to open a Mulholland Drive-themed club called Silencio in Paris (42 rue Montmartre in Paris, France.) The club is set to open in September and the hours will from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The venue will house a movie theater, concert hall, art gallery, restaurant and a bar. That all sounds great, but will Naomi Watts be there? If you need a reminder on Club Silencio’s vibe check out the below clip from Mulholland Drive.

These sexy and talented ladies will all be attending the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards airing live this Sunday,June 19 at 9 p.m. ET in Toronto, Canada. If you don’t reside in Canada don’t worry: The Fuse Network will be airing the awards live across the U.S. The show will be co-hosted by Selena Gomez. (Wasn’t Gomez just hospitalized for exhaustion?)
