Afternoon Delight: A tidbit from a Joan Jett tell-all, Jane Lynch on Halloween costumes from her past

Happy birthday to Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), out actress Saffron Burrows and the hottest woman on television, Judge Judy!

Apparently I’m slow to the party because I just found out about the hilarious, albeit offensive, HBO show Eastbound & Down. Ex-professional baseball player Kenny Powers (played by Danny McBride) somehow acquired the K-Swiss Corporation and, during his takeover, Powers enlists super trainer Jillian Michaels to make a hilarious cameo in this NSFW video. Seriously, why didn’t I know about this show sooner? I could have had such a better life.

Earlier this week famed photographer Annie Leibovitz opened a 200-piece exhibit at Moscow’s state Pushkin Museum. The exhibit showcases 15 years of Leibovitz’s personal and professional life and will run through January 15, 2012.

Speaking of fabulous art, 1970s bombshell Brigitte Bardot was painted by none other than Andy Warhol. Warhol’s eight portraits of Bardot are currently hanging in the Gagosian Gallery in London and will remain there until November 12.

You know who loves Halloween? Glee‘s Jane Lynch. In a recent interview, Lynch said, “I never felt right in my body. I loved Halloween as I could dress up as a guy.” My Halloween costumes were Indiana Jones, Wonder Woman and Xena. Guess who’s gay?”

Attention New Yorkers! Out comedian Wanda Sykes will be performing at the New York Comedy Festival on November 10. Sykes performs at 7:30 pm at the Town Hall (123 W. 43rd St.)

The Kids Are All Right‘s Annette Bening will take the stage at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles for one day and one day only. Bening will play Mary in It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play for a matinee and an evening show on December 10. Bening’s special appearance will be a fundraiser for the Geffen and The Actors Fund.

Speaking of outstanding theatrical events, are you aware that Bring It On: The Musical exists? Yes, the play is based on Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku‘s cheerleading film of the same name. The cheers begin in Los Angeles on October 30 at the Ahmanson Theater (135 N. Grand Ave. Los Angeles, CA).

Congratulations to actress Tilda Swinton, who will be receiving a Black Pearl Career Excellence award during tonight’s Abu Dhabi Film Festival.

Does out rocker Joan Jett really deserve to have a bad reputation? Author Dave Thompson thinks so. His book Bad Reputation: The Unauthorized Biography of Joan Jett claims to have the scoop on 14-year-old Jett as she evolves into the Blackhearts frontwoman. Below is an excerpt from Thompson’s tell-all.

One night at Jett’s apartment, some guy was over and started messing with the band. They decided to give him a popsicle that was 10% lemonade and 90% pee. As the Runaways smoked a joint, the poor guy licked his popsicle and made a face. “This tastes like s–t,” he said. Without missing a beat, Jett responded, “You’re getting close.”

Is it wrong that I hope this story is true? I think it’s kind of awesome – and gross.
