Afternoon Delight: A lesbian couple wins a New York wedding, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” covers “Entertainment Weekly”

TGIF!

Happy birthday to G.I. Jane‘s Demi Moore and Portia de Rossi’s Ally McBeal co-star Calista Flockhart.

Rooney Mara is on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Mara wraps her arms and legs around her Girl with the Dragon Tattoo costar Daniel Craig, but I think she’s only doing that to keep her balance.

Sara Gilbert and her The Talk co-hosts are heading to New York City. The popular gabfest will be taping a week of holiday-themed episodes on the East Coast scheduled to air Monday, December 12 through Friday, December 16.

Charlize Theron (Monster) dished to The Huffington Post about playing unlikable and evil characters and how we all have issues.

Theron said, “We have innately bad human behaviors that sometimes we can explain and justify. It’s easy to say someone’s an a–hole because they had this, this and this happen to them, so we have to forgive them. But what if someone was just an a–hole? That’s interesting to me.” Personally, I’m not a fan of a–holes but I do find wormholes to be fascinating.

Lady Gaga looked amazing as always at last night’s Bambi Awards in Wiesbaden, Germany . (Dear Gaga, C-3PO wants his helmet back. Love, Bridget.)

Congratulations to lesbian lovebirds Melissa Patrick and Sheila Barnett! Today the out couple is set to marry in New York state, although they are residents in Florida, where gay marriage is illegal. Barnett and Patrick entered a contest on Facebook and are one of 11 couples to be flown to New York and win the Crowne Plaza’s “Marry Me 11-11-11 Wedding Contest.” Their marriage will not be recognized in their home state, but that’s not stopping Barnett and Patrick from enjoying their special day. Patrick and Barnett are eager to put on their similar style wedding dresses and while Patrick will be wearing white, Barnett will be in purple.

Have you seen the most recent makeup commercial featuring CoverGirl’s Ellen DeGeneres? Hey, who are you calling wrinkle face?

Yesterday AE’s Karman Kregloe and I were lucky enough to attend an intimate luncheon in celebration of the lesbian film Pariah. We got to sit down and nosh with the actors, including Adepero Oduye, South of Nowhere‘s Aasha Davis, Kim Wayans, and the film’s director Dee Rees.

Which brings us to…

Photos of the Day:

Rees poses with Mrs. McManus at the Chateau Marmont while Oduye smiles big as I interrupt her first bite of lunch. She’s adorable!
