9. Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon), Rizzoli & Isles
Continuing in the trend of ladies who pack heat, Jane Rizzoli is our top-ranking detective this year. Did she beat out the others because of her sexy voice? Her incomparable swagger? Her heart-hopping smile? Probably. But she also beat out the other cops and detectives and agents because of her unquenchable attraction to Dr. Maura Isles.
8. Naomi Campbell (Lily Loveless), Skins
We loved Naomi Campbell from the first time we saw her; we think we were thirty. It took us two seasons to pluck up the courage to admit it to her. We were so scared of the way we felt, you know, loving a TV character that we became sarcastic bitches to make us feel normal. We watched YouTube to try to make it go away, but it didn’t work. When we saw Skins series three, it scared the shit out of us, because it was the one show in the world that could ruin our lives. We pushed her away. We tried to make her think it was her fault. But really, we were just terrified of the pain. We watched American network TV to spite her for having that kind of hold on us, and we’re total f–king cowards because we bought these — these region-free DVDs years ago. But we couldn’t stand to be slaves to the way we feel about her. Can’t you understand? It’s horrible, so horrible, because really, we would quit all TV for her. We love her. We love her so much it’s still killing us.
7. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez), Grey’s Anatomy
We’ll admit: In the early days, we kind of thought Callie was just going through “a lesbian phase.” You know how it is when your husband cheats on your with his best friend who also has sex with ghosts. But nope, Callie fell fully, deeply, irrevocably in love with another woman. She even married her on primetime network TV. She may have made some missteps, but like Arizona, we love her and all her adorable flaws.
