1) When and where have you met celebrity, or which celebrity would you most like to meet?
Kate Moenning, LOL, so predictable.
I’ve met some celebs who are a bit quieter, mostly theatre actors. I’ve chatted to Brian Cox (at a film festival, ’08) and Billy Boyd (at the hairdressers ’06 I think). I had a nice wee chat with Samantha Morton (a separate film festival, EIFF ’07).
It’s not “meeting” exactly, but I did speak to Rachel Shelley over the phone. She asked me where I was and I thought she meant literally, so I said “on my bed, in my bedroom”. She meant where in the country… oops. Although she thought my voice was nice, which had me on a high and telling anyone who was interested (not that many people actually, so yay for AfterEllen.com and those who will get it).
2) What lesbian/bi pop culture character are you most like, and why?
Probably Dana from The L Word. I’m not a tennis pro, although I am a fan of the sport, but I share some similar behaviours with her. You know when she’ll ask the girls about what just happened, and be sort of cringy and embarrassed, and “I just did what?!” and “Omg I’m so gay” and mock freaks out? Well, that’s kind of me, LOL.
Oh and a bit of Molly too, when she talks too much when she’s nervous. Nerves make me chatter to the point where the other person is probably stunned into silence and then I have to recover and move it forward again. Why do I get myself into these situations? See, I’m even doing it in print. I’m talking too much in print. Stop!
3.) What cd is in heavy rotation for you right now?
Garbage, Absolute Garbage. I felt an urge to revisit their music recently and have had their greatest hits, and some others too, playing for several days on the trot. Shirley Manson is… amazing.
4.) If we hacked into your DVR, what would we find?
I don’t really have DVR per sé, but if I was to record you’d find Mad Men, Dexter, West Wing re-runs, Doctor Who, Gavin and Stacey, 30 Rock, Being Human, Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Graham Norton Show, Strictly Come Dancing, a David Attenborough nature docu, Orangutan Diary, Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend. The list could go on and on and on. I love television.
5.) When did you start reading AE, or what’s your favorite AE feature?
I’m loving the Twitter round ups, it’s a great pacy insight into the myriad of lesbian/bi people out there, and it often produces funny anecdotes. Oh, and also the fact that you host Liz Feldman’s This Just Out. Love her, I want more more more of this show! And this, of course!
