"Work Out" Recaps: Episode 3.6 "Get Nasty"Brian doesn't know how to quit when he's behind and asks if Jackie wants him to be a part of her business, wants him be there and help her "go on further." He's drunk, alone, hungry for the spotlight, and begging for his job back; does television get any better-slash-worse? After a long pause — she's not considering his question; she's thunderstruck by his jackassery — Jackie says calmly but firmly, "I do not want you as an employee." Brian does not take the news well.
I don't love you anymore — Brian does a 180 faster than Danica Patrick in a spin-out. He's ranting, he's raving, he tells Jackie she disrespects everyone. (Brian is obsessed with respect.) Jackie counters she has 25 employees, and they don't think that's so. Brian calls Jackie "high and all mighty," and ices the cake with, "You're so f---ing great, f--- you!" and storms off in a vodka-fueled huff.
What, no hug? You'd think it was finally over. The Jackie Warner–Brian Peeler chapter has come to an end. But no. Brian comes back because — again — he's not getting that concept of quitting when he's behind.
Jackie: Don't get hopped up on me. I
don't want to do this here, at this event.
Who's Connie's daughter? Is she hot? Brian slaps his hand again and again, yelling, "It's only when you need somebody!" When you need somebody, call my name. If you want someone, you can do the same. Free, free, set them free … la la la. Even after Jackie goes back into the restaurant, Brian is still ranting at the camera. She's not a good human being! OK, we get it. She's bad. Bad Jackie. Thanks. Got the memo. Bye. Finally, Brian walks off into the night for the last time.
Or is it? Next week on Work Out: The milk of human compassion, otherwise known as Jackie's mother, comes to visit. Little does she know, Briana lives there. And Briana's family is visiting that same week. Who needs an extra pillow? |

Your dance with words is just amazing, Dara!
It's my treat of the week!
"this is how straight people flirt:
Renessa: Oh no, your shoe's wet.
Greg: They dry out.
Renessa: They do?
Greg: Yeah, they do.
Renessa: Really?
Somewhere between the bar and the pool, Renessa got a lobotomy."

Dara. OMG! Thanks for the laughs!
The pool needs more chlorine...
Hilarious!

Oh Peeler
It's never a good thing when you make yourself look worse than Jackie ever did.
Gawd, this show is such a trainwreck.

Who doesn't blog these days?
Trainwreck?
More like an interstate pile up that everyone just has to look at as they drive by. Even though they tell themselves they don't want to view anything gorey!! Ah, the Drama Queenery of it all! I Like watching the show, and love your recaps even more! Dara ROCKS!!!
And as long as Erika remains a trainer...mmussst....wwatch...wworkout @_@
Goody Proctor.
Okay...THAT was my spit-take moment for this recap! It still makes me laugh! :D
This show was the first time I felt badly for Rebecca...when Peeler grabbed her from behind and was hugging her in a I-am-taking-you-prisoner kind of way...boy were her eyes bugging!
Snarking for fun and prophet...
I was a Work Out fan but I have to say this year this show is really turning me off. I don't even find that it's like the "accident on the freeway that you just can't stop from looking at" anymore. It's almost like I don't know what is believeable or not and JW's head just doesn't seem to fit on my screen anymore.
The best part of it all is Dara's recaps....methinks you even have a bit of 'future sight' these days. Please don't ever lose that great edge you have. It is so appreciated. So, I will request without shame....Commence Snarking!!!I missed this episode!
My cable went off on me during the renessa-plitt make out session on the bar eek! XD. Im glad we've got your re-caps though and they are always funny as hell. LOL. I love them!.
And ahhh I dont think I need to watch that episode no-more, just to thing that peeler is a camera-whore or an energy vampire makes me say "here we go again" hes old business already and should stick to that...but I gotta say, you've got to love post-Vodka syndrome Lmao. Makes you do the unthinkable. ha!.
Cant wait to see the next episode and come back to rad it here for the laughs :D
I spit out more tea reading this blog....
"Natalie wants to know why people tend to crave carbs and sugar when they feel low. Um, because Brussels sprouts taste like doody?" :D :D
Dara you're the only thing that makes the show worth watching anymore!
Seriously, you should get commission from Bravo...
boobgate...
I'm glad you recap, 'cause I won't watch this show.

I love reading your recaps
I love reading your recaps on this show, Dara, even though this show has become more pathetic... Keep up the funny stuff! I can't believe that Jackie was this close to firing Gregg Plitt, and never fired Lisa who also got this "free" vacation, while Brian is out somewhere suffering his "undeserving" consequences... I think Jackie's decision had to do with not being invited to have fun with her trainers' on that night...
Dara, your recaps rock
I don't even watch the show, but I look forward to your recaps every week because you are so effin funny.
"When I'm down, I reach for the things we were fed in childhood: steak, tofu and an Asian dish called Don'tshamethefamily."
LMFAO! *sigh* I know what you mean though
Dara you're the coolest gaysian ever!
Great Recap. Still love
It's so sad to me
That when Jackie ante's up and shows she can be just a pinch professional and still share a little humanity, everyone else takes their turn to act like a fool. It was a charity event and she tried quite graciously to deal with Peeler without calling the cops to take him away. When he was disruptive the first time he should have been asked to leave. Hell, she even took the time to try and get him to talk his feelings out.
I have a funny feeling the loss of endorsements got her feelinga little more serious about the work side of "Work Out". At the end of teh day, she is human, and she is a business woman. It's just too bad she brings and creates such drama with her.
Trainwreck
I kinda feel for Brian but he acted like an ass-hole
For once, Jackie was professional, unlike Greg P.
Can't wait to see the family drama next week ^^
Anyway, great recap Dara, as always
Renessa has an 11 year-old
What's so bad about single mothers?
I don't mean to single you out since I had planned to comment on bad machine's recap already, but can we please lay off the single mother jokes and judgements. The term "single mother" is not synonymous with undereducated and/or irresponsible. People have children at young ages for many different reasons. I'm not saying that Renessa is the type of person I'd want to associate with but we have no understanding of what kind of mother she is or what her circumstances in life are. And kudos to her for taking care of her child.
I've read "through the Rye's"
First off, Renessa is 29.
First off, Renessa is 29. Thanks google.
Secondly: "Or maybe she has child BECAUSE she wasn't responsible....." I don't know but that sounds a lot like judgment to me.
Also my comment was also directed at bad machine. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear.
"Someone like her" has it "all"? If by "all" she means an inflated sense of self, a high school education and an 11-year-old kid, then the bar is lower than I thought it was."
I'm usually a fan of her snark but I thought that mentioning her child in that way was in poor taste.

I LOOOVE YOU, MAAAN!
"Someone like her" has it "all"? If by "all" she means an inflated sense of self, a high school education and an 11-year-old kid, then the bar is lower than I thought it was.
RIGHT? WTF was that comment about? I thought the same thing! Gosh, Renessa, we all aspire to be just like you.
Peeler, Peeler, Peeler...dude, you really screwed the pooch this week. Almost everyone was backing this guy after last week's fiasco. I think this might be the quickest switch from underdog hero to backwater lush in history.
the success of WORKOUT
that 'guy' has been a wreck for the entire show. and not almost everyone was backing him. he has always flown off the handle and had an extreme temper, and it has nothing to do with JACKIE. IT has to do with the fact he as a temper and is a loose cannon.
can you say ISSUES...lol
like i said before this is just a reality TV show, reality ? and TV ? mmm...well, it is also based on the concept of WORKOUT and what is around that atmosphere. I don't think it was ever ment to show the gym in a 'positive' light. Not really. I think it was ment to exploit the sexuality that goes with hot bodies, and a lesbian boss who has a lot of 'mojo'.
Let's never forget, it's just an edited program. Fun to watch. And in the end, we watch it because JACKIE is so damn hot. To be honest if you took her out of the equation, I couldn't be 'assed' to watch or read about it.
At my gym the other day, I was wondering, damn, where ARE all those HOT butch trainer girls????...We need more visible butches in gyms. I think WORKOUT is an amazingly unique program because it shows something I have NEVER seen. A butch hot women running a gym, with lots of other hot female trainers.
Oh, no...
love random danica references!
missed episodes
I've missed a few weeks episodes because I'm home now and comcast doesn't cover bravo where I live!
anyone know where I can find episodes online? I usually take advantage of surfthechannel.com (which by the way is a fantastic site), but it doesn't cover work out.
you're awesome!
just discovered this site recently and LOVE it and your recaps!!
I heart sugar.

recap humor is the best
Thank You BadMachine
You're the best reviewer. I don't have the time or energy to put into the show anymore, but I read your reviews every week and I laugh out loud.
Thank you!!
