Nicole tells us, “I’m really freaking out right now because I’m scared that I’m not getting the line.”  Evil Jay “helps” by telling her, “This is THE moment.”  Nicole then does the unforgivable--she complains.  She whines, “I’m sorry, it’s just these lights—well, they’re kind of blinding me.” Evil Jay loves it when they complain because then he gets to slap them down for it.”  He tells her to focus because that’s what a top model has got to do.

Nicole is about to cry (which would be the ultimate test for this easy breezy new product!) and is shaking her head because she just doesn’t think she can get her lines right.  Evil Jay then offers to “help” again by reading her each sentence of the script.  But then he tells us, “I had to feed her every line. And I’m gonna have to tell the judges that.”

Nik is bolstered because she did so well on the commercial (and the other girls sucked so hard), and she brings that confidence to the photo shoot.  She tries extra hard to give variety in her photos, and they look great.

Bre gets the shocking news that she’s going to be required to smile for this photo shoot. For some reasons, she’s put out by this information, and says, “I’m trying to think of something funny so it doesn’t look forced.”

Nicole is feeling the heat because her commercial was atrocious. So she’s just trying to muddle through her photo shoot when she’s told that she pushes her tongue up against her front teeth when she smiles. Then tell her to stop doing it.  She apologizes and tries to change the way she smiles for the last few frame of the shoot.  I think her goofy smile is kind of cute. Why do they try to take away the one thing that makes her unique?

Evil Jay says that he expected the worst from Nik and the best from Nicole, but that he got the exact opposite. “Just goes to show that you may think you know who’s going to be America’s Next Top Model, but you really don’t.”

Back at the Savoy, the girls receive Tyra Mail telling them that one will be eliminated the next day.

At panel, the regular judges are joined by two fashion designers--Vanya Strok and Nargess Gharani. The two Top Model finalists will be starring in their fashion show.

We get to see the edited version of the commercial the girls shot. Let’s just say that it is strange. The girls are very self-consciously strutting around and playing cutesy with two guys who look to be lost members of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.  Their smiles are forced, their eyes wide with terror. The collective pretty doesn’t undo the fact that they look like they’re being forced to film this commercial at gunpoint.

Tyra thinks that when they stand together, they look like the rainbow, “chocolate, vanilla, and caramel!” In Tyra’s world, rainbows are made of ice-cream (low fat).  The judges think that Nik was the best by far in the commercial, and the director told them that she “stood out.” (Yes, same director that was macking on her at the shoot.)

Bre’s photo shoot is smoking—she looks gorgeous. But Tyra tells her that the judges had a hard time finding her one great shot because all of the frames were just “pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty. But they weren’t necessarily model-y looking.”

Sometimes I have no idea what the hell Tyra is talking about.

Then we see Bre’s unedited solo commercial!  (That loud clanking sound you just heard in the background? That was Nicole shitting a brick because she will probably soon be seeing her own unedited commercial.) In this unflattering video, you see all of Bre’s screw-ups. Twiggy says it’s a shame that it was so bad because Bre has that great raspy voice. Nigel thinks that Bre has a lot of personality and that it came through.

Nik’s best picture from the photo shoot is really pretty, but Tyra says, “there wasn’t much to choose from.” They play Nik’s solo commercial and it’s a winner. Nigel particularly likes it, but Tyra thinks that for a Cover Girl ad, she could be more “cheeky.”  Then she demonstrates the right way to have said all of the lines (aka Tyra’s Way).

Nicole’s photo shoot film is great. “Stunning!” says Nigel. And the judges think that she had the best of them all.  Nicole only gets to bask in the compliment for a moment before they cue her solo commercial.  Not only do we see her screwing up, but they include the footage in which she rolled her eyes and complained about the lights blinding her. Tyra looks furious!
