A Lesbian Relationship on "Grey's Anatomy"?Warning: gay-related spoilers! Last week we mentioned that Grey's Anatomy was teasing viewers with a potential relationship between Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith). But last night's episode ("Piece of My Heart") did more than tease — it laid the groundwork for one or both of the characters to come out.
The two doctors have been shown growing closer over the last few episodes. Cristina (Sandra Oh) recently came home to the apartment she shares with Callie to find Callie and Erica sharing a bottle of wine in her living room. In this week's episode, Addison (Kate Walsh) returned to Seattle Grace for a surgery and grew happily suspicious after watching the body language and rapport between the two doctors. She asked Callie about it over lunch.

Shortly afterward, Callie asked Meredith and Cristina if anyone ever thought they were a couple. (Meredith's response — "No, because we screw boys like whores on tequila" — was one of the funniest lines of the night.) At the end of the episode, Addison is having drinks with Callie and Erica at the bar, and they're all having a good time until Hahn removes a piece of hair that's caught in Callie's lip gloss.
Callie freezes, seeing the speculative look from Addison. Grey's resident playboy, Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) comes over at that moment to ask if any of the women want to dance, and Callie jumps at the chance, grinding all over him on the dance floor as Hahn watches. Seeing an opportunity to play matchmaker, Addison says to Hahn, "She's pretty, isn't she?" Hahn responds, "She's beautiful," and Addison grins. Noticing Hahn watching her, Callie asks Mark suggestively if he wants to "get out of here," and they promptly leave as Hahn looks on wistfully. Back in October, Smith expressed enthusiasm at the idea of her character potentially being gay, telling TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, "I've certainly let [the producers] know I'm open to it" when he suggested that Dr. Hahn would make "an awesome lesbian." Initially, there was speculation that her character might be paired with Cristina, which still remains a possibility despite Callie's recent behavior. There have been hints that a story line like this was coming. Besides all the spoilers running rampant on the internet, Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes wrote in a column for TV Guide earlier this month that "Callie, Erica and Mark are going to go through some changes that might surprise you."
Earlier this week, out actor T.R. Knight confirmed to USA Today that "there's something gay" coming up on the Grey's two-hour May 22nd season finale, saying: "I was surprised as anyone. Anytime on television that real life is reflected is a good thing." Although she won't reveal which characters are involved, Rhimes writes that the finale ends with "a good kiss. A great kiss. A kiss so good it makes you lean into your televisions. A kiss we never saw coming. Oh, it's a major kiss." Whether the kiss is between Hahn and Torres, Hahn and Cristina, or another couple entirely remains to be seen. don't follow grey's anatomy, but
Sara Ramirez is HOT. And after her character had that thing with T.R. Knight's character (see how much I watch?), I really got into her, except for the fact that I don't watch it. I don't know much about Brooke Smith's character, but I for one would prefer if Sandra Oh turned out to be gay - I mean, the woman's already played a lesbian! another time wouldn't hurt!
The censorship board's likely to cut out ANY hint of a lesbian relationship anyway, so there's no point in me watching it on television - I'll leave it up to AE to (hopefully!) post clips. Gosh, Sara Ramirez!

After watching the episode, I'm with you!!!! They have to put Christina and Hahn together. Sandra Oh is amazing, and those two would be awesome together! Bring it on ;-)

seriously. that was kind of the best episode ever, because a) addison returned! oh, kate walsh, please always be on my tv, and b) callie/hahn. i really really hope that shonda takes this in the direction it seems to be going, because wow, callie did quite a bit of protesting too much, and addison was all smirky about it. and then hahn with her sad face when callie danced with mark. it's already my favorite show, but this would make me love it even more!

Sorry, but this episode made me start wanting to break out a little It's Wonderful music... not only did we have the return of the ultra fantastic Kate Walsh once again embodying the ultra cool Addison, but then to actually have this episode follow through on what could ultimately have simply been a big tease of a preview-very cool!
I'm a big Sara Ramirez fan... she's one among my selection of choices for the AfterEllen.com Hot 100! She was super sexy in the dancing scene last night, but I could certainly picture the scene being even sexier had she been dancing with Dr. Hahn! And the look on Hahn's face while watching her was priceless. Leave it to the ever observant Addison to notice what appeared to be taking place between Hahn and Torres. (I'm still sad that Addison won't permanently be back at Seattle Grace.)
It should be interesting to see where Shonda and her writing team take us with this latest possible revelation... I only hope that unlike so many previous story lines on this and various other shows the end result turns out better than the rest of them have!

After all this talk on AE
After all this talk on AE about this possible relationship, I decided I could no longer resist, and now I just finished watching my very first episode of Grey's Anatomy. Yes, I am that desperate to see lesbians on TV.
And I actually kind of liked it. The Callie/Hahn/Cristina/Addison scenes were fun, and I can't wait to see how they're going to handle this storyline (and please, Gods Of Television, don't screw this one up).
Plus, the added bonus of seeing the wonderful Clea DuVall again made it extra fun (and extra gay). She's so good. I love her.

I agree. There's no way she's straight. I just watched the episode online tonight with my girlfriend and she was thoroughly amused at my giddiness. I've been predicting just this relationship since Dr. Hahn came on the scene. And now that it looks like we just may get that realtionship - I'm scared the network will take it away. So I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they don't screw it up!

That's what I want to see. Although, I think I could make do with a Callie/Hahn pairing. ;) Either couple would be lovely. I'm hoping to see a dramatic confession of attraction by Hahn to Cristina, explaining why she won't teach her. Followed, of course, by 'a good kiss, a great kiss... a major kiss.' There's so much tension between the two of them, it would be smokin' hot. :D
On the other hand, Cristina is always getting involved with her mentors, and I'd almost like to see her not do that again. But more than that, I'd like to see her do that again.

First of all, I love Addison even more for being generally awesome, hot and being the sort of catalyst for this possible romance. She rawks my socks every time she's on screen.
And wow, this could indeed be interesting. Callie's defensiveness and behaviour was certainly not that of a straight woman at the receiving end of a crush, no no. It was a 'shit scared of her own feelings' reaction.
Lets get it on! Something tells me the Grey's Anatomy writers aren't going to disappoint us on this one. No OC heartbreak here! :-D

as far as the ABC network's relationship with lesbian storylines.
All My Children's Bianca never got more than a blip of a relationship with Lena onscreen while Bianca's longest and more intense relationship with Maggie was consummated off-screen.
Don't even get me started on Cashmere Mafia. I thought it might be different because it was a prime time show and Kevin on Brothers & Sisters has been fleshed out so wonderfully.
So I watched the whole eppie last night...and usually I would have been gleeful...or glee-filled...lol...but yeah, now I am a skeptic and they have to prove themselves to me.

It's so nice to finally enjoy grey's again! for awhile there it was boring me to tears. but last night i was laughing out loud and loving it! i miss addison on that show and last night was a plesant suprise having her back! I really hope they keep this story line going...i'm very intrigued to see where they'll take this! callie is gorgeous and shes def the one i would love to see hook up with haun. whether this is all wishful thinking or not...we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out! i really hope they don't screw this one up!!

I would be so happy if Hahn and Callie get together. This has to happen! For me, Hahn pinged to heaven since the first episode she appeared and Callie/Sara Ramirez is pure hotness. This couple would make the screen melt.

Sweet Fancy Moses, is Sara Ramirez hot or what? I don't even watch Grey's Anatomy (love Sandra Oh, but I could never really get into it) and I voted for Sara in AE's Hot 100. Although, in this particular storyline, my opinion - and please don't crucify me here - is that her character is WAY too hot for the character they're trying to hook her up with. Now if they tried to hook her up with Oh's character, I'd be all about it... :P

I would love to see Christina and Hahn together. They would make one hot couple. I would pay to see it better yet I would give my right arm to see them together. They have insane chemistry!

This would be the best thing ever. I have loved Dr. Hahn since her first episode, and if she hadn't become a regular I probably wouldn't have started watching again this season. This just makes it oh-so-much better.
Plus Brooke Smith was one of my votes for the Hot 100 this year. ;)
