Naturi Naughton joins Amber Heard in "Playboy"

Earlier this week we told you that Amber Heard is in talks to play a lead role in NBC's forthcoming pilot, Playboy. Now comes the news that Heard is confirmed for a lead role, as is Naturi Naughton, who has signed on to play Brenda, "a stunning African-American Bunny determined to become the first black Playboy centerfold." She'll be the "confidante and roommate" of Heard's character, Maureen, in the Bunny Dormitory.

You might remember the stunning Naughton from her Bunny role during last season's Mad Men. Or, maybe from her turn as Denise Dupree in the 2009 Fame remake. (No? I'm the only person on earth who enjoyed that movie? Fiiiiine.)

I'm not really sure what kind of feminist overtures (or undertones) we can expect from a series called Playboy, but I'm thrilled that the already-high profile project will include a colorful cast. In fact, Heard and Naughton look really good together, don't they? Like really good. Like Bunny Dormitory roomies with benefits good.
